Table of Contents
1) Roundtrip Flight tickets
While there are plenty of Airports in Thailand but only 3 to 5 Airports are chosen by Travellers as they act as major connecting points to popular destinations.
3 Major Airports of Thailand are
Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK)
Don Mueang International Airport (DMK)
Phuket International Airport (HKT)
Flight Tickets may vary depending on the Departure Airport you are going to travel but as per research I’ve listed below the average flight ticket pricing.
From India to Thailand flight tickets can range anywhere in between 15k to 40k depending on how advance you are booking the tickets and on Departure and arrival Airports.
Here is the cheapest Flight Tickets Planner
Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata (CCU) to Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) 15K to 16K for Roundtrip (15 to 30 days Prior).
Bengaluru International Airport (BLR) to Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) 17K to 18K for Roundtrip.
Chennai International Airport (MAA) to Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) 19 to 20K for Roundtrip.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM) to Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) 20k to 26k for Roundtrip ( Check Thai Lion Air as they provide offer tickets at 15k Roundtrip for some particular days).
Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) to Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK) 26K to 30K for Roundtrip.
Tickets to Phuket Airport (HKT) are often a bit expensive and to Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) are always affordable when compared to the BKK Airport in Bangkok.
2) Visa Requirements
3) Accommodation in Thailand
Bangkok has a lot to offer in terms of accommodations and amenities. If you fancy spending your time in the most happening place of the city then “Khaosan Road”.
As it has got all these pub crawls, Bangkok’s Street food along with amazing hostels, making it a perfect spot for backpackers.
And if you fancy a bit of luxury in a budget then either “Sathorn“ or Sukhumvit” is your go to place.
And if complete luxury is what you are looking for, then “Khlong Toei” is the place to have a look at.
When it comes to stay in Pattaya you can choose in between the areas of either “Jomtien Beach” or “Pattaya Central” as they are nearby to all the attractions.
And in Phuket, make sure to book in centre of the island, such as “Old town Phuket” or in “Patong” areas but not near the Airport as it is super away from the city.
If you wanna stay in “Koh Phi Phi islands” then you must stay in “Phi Phi Don” Island and you can book anywhere as it is just a small Island.
It usually costs 1500 INR per person per day if you are booking for double occupancy room in most of the 3 star hotels in Thailand.
4) Transportation
Airport to Hotel
If you are landing in Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) or Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK) then you could take a bus to the major localities of BKK for less than half of the price when compared to Taxis.
To know exact information and the pricing for any of buses and taxis, checkout “rome2rio“.
Bangkok has a lot of Taxis and public transport is also well connected. To commute to any of your favourite tourist places you could book a ride with ease through Grab and Bolt.
While Bolt offers you cheaper rides when compared to Grab but the rides booked through Bolt always tend to arrive late or cancelled before even arriving often due to significantly lesser pricing.
Grab offers a sure shot ride to all the corners but at a moderate pricing. Make sure to install both of these apps and check out before booking any ride.
If you are travelling alone then you could even book a bike taxi through these apps at an ultra affordable pricing.
I’d not suggest to take Tuk Tuks (Auto Rickshaws) in Bangkok as they will always try to charge a hefty amount especially from the foreigners.
You could give a try to public transport either if you are in Bangkok and have a lot of free time otherwise I’d suggest you to book a ride at an affordable pricing from either Bolt or Grab.
But if you are looking to travel to other destinations in Thailand such as Pattaya, Chiang Mai, Phuket etc
Then you could either opt for domestic flights as they are a lot cheaper or you could install an app known as “12GoAsia” for all the tickets regarding buses, trains and ferry at relatively cheaper pricing when compared to travel agents.
It usually costs you around 1k to 1.5K per day for travelling to the tourist attractions and destinations but if you opt for domestic Flights then it can be a bit expensive.
5) Internet Connectivity and Money exchange
You can easily find both Sims and Money exchange at the Airport Itself but it always costs you a bit more when you are buying a sim or trying to exchange money at the Airport.
Henceforth I suggest you to reach hotel by booking a cab using the Airport’s wifi. And look out for nearest 7/11 stores using your hotel’s wifi as these stores offer sim with Instant Activation and Internet Connection at almost half of the price when compared to the Airport stores.
Although there are 3 to 4 Network providers in Thailand, I’ve personally used and suggest you to buy a sim from the provider known as “True 5g” as the service is unbelievably great and constant even in islands of Thailand.
When we are talking of Money Exchange it is necessary and advisable to carry at least 10K Thai Bhat from India as the immigration officer has a right to ask you for proof of funds.
You could either carry them in form of cash or in form of Credit Cards or Bank Balance. I personally suggest you to get a Credit Card from “Niyo Global” as it offers Zero Forex Markup fee.
In simple words, you won’t be charged a penny more than the actual exchange price.
If you aren’t carrying in Cash then make sure to checkout the currency exchange agents in Bangkok on google with highest ratings and reviews.
Ring them once to find out the best exchange rate so that you could choose the best one and get done with exchange.
6) Food in Thailand
If you are a Non vegetarian then you could find a plenty of options as Bangkok is a food paradise if you are looking for something new.
If you are a Vegetarian or Vegan then the options get skimmed down a little. But make sure to have a walk around the famous “Khaosan Road“.
For some insanely popular and good street food in the likes of Pad Thai, Tom Yum, Mango Sticky Rice, Papaya Salad, Banana Nutella Roti etc.
It’s worth tasting for once for sure as they taste really good and different than what we usually eat. Although you will find a lot of crocodiles, insects, pork served as recipes in this particular street, you could give it a try if you are a thrill seeker and a proper foodie.
I’d personally suggest to visit 7/11 stores, which you could find every where in Thailand as they have the best and tasty packed food in the whole Thailand.
One can even find Indian dishes as a packed food at a relatively affordable pricing than the restaurants.
Talking of restaurants, there are so many options of both Indian and Thai cuisine to try out. But Indian food costs you more than the Thai food.
For better discounts and tasty food at affordable pricing, you should checkout online food delivery apps such as Grab and Food Panda.
It usually. costs 600 to 1000 INR for food per day in Thailand.
Make sure to visit “Jodd Fairs(Bangkok)” if you are a foodie as it is a truly a vibe for all the food lovers.

If you are heading to Pattaya then it’s advisable to book a bus ticket in advance as it’s hardly 3 to 4 hours of journey.
But if you want to skip Pattaya and head to Phuket then you ought to Book a flight ticket or a bus ticket through “12goAsia” if the flight tickets are expensive.

Phuket is one of the must visit destinations to explore in Thailand. Let’s dwell deep by knowing the must visit places in Phuket.
As Phuket is situated in South Thailand, which is home to 10s of incredibly beautiful islands. Even if we explore for months we wouldn’t be able to explore every beautiful island to the fullest. But I’ve tried to mentioned the must visit islands especially if you have less time.

You could commute through a ferry and book a ticket on 12goAsia. It’s usually a 1 hour 4 minute journey so make sure take the first ferry which starts at 8:30 at the “Rassada pier“, Phuket.
So that you could go on a day tour to various islands and famous spots in Koh phi phi islands.
Make sure to book this day tour in advance using “Klook” or any other tour provider according to your arrival time.
10) Things go to do in Koh phi phi
Koh phi phi is a group of islands consisting of some famous spots which are worth visiting. You ought to book your accommodation in Phi Phi don island in order to spend some amazing time on these islands. Opt for the day tour which consists of the following places
Bamboo island (Must visit in Thailand trip)
Pi Leh Lagoon
Maya bay
Monkey beach
Viking caves
Bio luminescent plankton
Cost of this day tour is 2000 to 2500 INR, book offline.
After a long day of exploring you could rest at your hotel for the night and wake up as early as possible to head to for the one of the best sunrises of your life at the “ Phi Phi view point” which is rather beautiful but it requires a 30 minutes of trek, henceforth make sure to carry water and other necessary things.
As soon as you finish this trek you could either put an end to your exploration at Phi Phi islands by taking a ferry back to phuket or you book a ferry to “Krabi” as it has got home beautiful places either. This Completely depends on your free time.
